Beli prenatals are covering both sides of the pregnancy equation with scientifically-aligned formulas for women and men.
It’s no secret that women take prenatal vitamins during their pregnancy to fill nutritional gaps and keep nutrient stores topped up. After all, it’s tough work growing an entire person! What’s less understood is that optimal nutrition should ideally begin before you hope to conceive, in that oh-so-important window about three to six months prior to conception. And here’s something very few people know—optimal nutrition in that timeframe—and throughout a partner’s entire pregnancy—is just as important for hopeful dads-to-be.
For men, it all comes down to improving fertility. In addition to regular exercise, a good diet, and nixing bad habits (smoking and drinking, we’re looking at you), a men’s prenatal vitamin can create higher quality sperm with fewer DNA abnormalities. (Side note: if you’re curious how healthy your or your partner’s sperm are, check out the best male fertility test kits compared head-to-head, also conveniently delivered to the home).
The science is solid, but this is still a relatively new concept for many of us. Not so for Beli, the prenatal company behind Beli Vitality for Men and Beli for Women. We took a deep dive into the company’s approach to prenatal vitamins for both parents to be, the science behind their formulations, and how they stack up to other brands in the market.
Meet Beli — what kind of vitamins do they offer?
Beli is more than just a prenatal vitamin. It’s the first prenatal vitamin system designed to help mom, dad, and baby reach their full potential from the very beginning. In 2019, founder Joni Hanson Davis was in the process of creating a new line of clean, functional vitamins for moms before, during, and after pregnancy. During her own pregnancies, it had become glaringly obvious that the world of prenatal vitamins hadn’t kept pace with modern science. Joni was committed to changing that, when it occurred to her that the other half of the pregnancy equation deserved just as much consideration.
That’s when Beli Vitality for Men was born—a nutrient-rich formula backed by science and designed to deliver the staples a man’s body needs for stronger, healthier sperm. Fast forward a year, and the company introduced Beli for Women, one of the only prenatal vitamins on the market that meets the most current recommendations set forth by both the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for choline, folate, vitamin D, magnesium, and iodine. In fact, Beli for Women is one of very few prenatal vitamins with 400mg of choline, a nutrient that rivals folate in importance during gestation and during the postnatal stage.
The role of prenatal vitamins for her and him
Most of us understand that proper nutrition has a direct effect on our health. But just because we recognize the importance of a good diet doesn’t mean we practice it. That can be particularly problematic if the goal is conceiving a baby. But even those of us with impressive diets are often lacking in the specific micronutrients that are critical to a successful conception, pregnancy, and baby.
That’s where prenatal vitamins come in. Unfortunately, as supplements, prenatal vitamins fall into unregulated territory, which means it’s up to the consumer to find recommendations from trusted sources—think the AMA, AAP, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)—and the handful of prenatals that actually meet those recommendations.
It’s harder than you’d think, especially considering the staggering number of prenatal vitamins on the market today. The fact is, not all prenatal vitamins have the nutrients you need, while others have amounts nowhere near recommended levels.
Still, the fact remains that prenatal vitamins are non-negotiable during your pregnancy, lowering the risk of issues like congenital defects (especially brain and spinal cord deficits) and preterm birth and helping to manage symptoms of morning sickness.

Review of Beli for men

Beli for Men is a prenatal multivitamin designed to optimize reproductive and sperm health. It’s formulated with key nutrients, including L-carnitine, vitamins C and E, N-acetylcysteine, zinc, coenzyme Q10, and Shilajit, all of which have been studied for their role in creating stronger, healthier sperm. This is a men’s prenatal multivitamin specifically designed to improve sperm in every measurable dimension, which is exactly what you want before, during, and after a partner’s conception and pregnancy.
Many new dads experience a testosterone nosedive toward the end of their partner’s pregnancy and the birth of their baby, which can impact mood and energy levels and contribute to a reduced sex drive, less emotional resilience during stressful situations, and even paternal postpartum depression. But the same blend of vitamins and nutrients that support healthy sperm production can help balance testosterone levels, so new dads have the nutritional support they need to focus on fatherhood.
Another happy side effect? The science-backed nutrients in Beli for Men also contribute to improved energy, balance, and overall wellness. Who doesn’t want more of that?

Beli for women ingredients: what’s not inside—and why
Just as important as what’s included in Beli for Women is what’s not included. These prenatals deliberately exclude vitamin A, calcium, and DHA. Adequate amounts of vitamin A are generally easily accessible through diet alone, and too much vitamin A can be dangerous during pregnancy. Calcium is also accessible through diet, and it inhibits proper absorption of iron. DHA is often touted in marketing copy for prenatal vitamins, but it’s not a shelf-stable ingredient. It can be hard on the stomach, and it’s another nutrient you can largely get through diet alone. Evidence also suggests that artificial DHA doesn’t deliver the same benefits as the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids from real fish.
These exclusions are intentional, and Beli for Women’s formula remains rooted in science. It’s a sign of the extensive research behind the brand, and it’s why you won’t find artificial colorants, hydrogenated oils, magnesium silicate (talc), rice flour, titanium dioxide, or sodium benzoate in their formulations. Suffice to say, that’s a good thing—you don’t want any of these additives in your prenatal vitamins!

Beli reviews: What are customers saying online?
Below are a few reviews of Beli from real customers that we found online. It’s always interesting to see what users have to say, and overall the feedback on Beli’s prenatal vitamins has been overwhelmingly positive, both among men and women.
“I am a big believer in supplements and adding micronutrients to your diet, especially when prepping your body for a fertility journey. And while I don’t think any prenatal multivitamins target all your individual needs, they are a good way to get you started. Beli prenatals are backed completely by science and research to meet recommended nutrients and i.e. include most ingredients that I normally recommend to my patients, like CoQ10, Vit D, Vit C, B6 and 12 and folate and easily digestible iron. Beli also has the recommended levels of choline to support baby’s brain development which is hard to find in a quality prenatal supplement.”
—Dr. Surrey, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.S. SCRC IVF
“It’s shocking that most prenatal formulas don’t contain choline, or have it in such low amounts, considering how critical it is for baby’s brain development. 92% of pregnant women don’t get the recommended amount of choline in their diets that helps build the baby’s brain, protect placenta function, and support normal fetal neural pathway growth,” said Dr. Taylor Wallace, America’s favorite food scientist and expert on choline research. “Beli’s new modern prenatal is one of the first to include 400mg of a highly absorbable form of choline that gives women the nutrients they need to support a growing baby in pregnancy and post-pregnancy.”
—Dr. Taylor Wallace, PhD, CFS, FACN, adjunct professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies at George Mason University
“My husband and I started trying for a family about 6+ years ago. After a year of no success, we had testing done. One thing that came back was my husband’s sperm count being low and IVF was recommended. We decide to make dietary and lifestyle changes first. After a few years, my husband’s counts improved to a “good/B+ grading”. And it’s remained that way for the last two years. Then we found Beli a few months ago, and my husband’s most recent sperm analysis revealed “excellent/A+grading!” Beli was the only change in the last 90 days and I truly believe it’s what made the difference! And it’s the fastest change we’ve ever seen!! Therefore, I HIGHLY recommend Beli for Men.”

“I have been taking Beli for 3 months now and love that it doesn’t upset my stomach and knowing that it has all of the vitamins and nutrients that the baby and I need.”
—Emily A., verified customer
“I have been taking Beli for my prenatal – they are great for all stages of pregnancy, from trying to conceive through postpartum. For me, it was important to find a prenatal vitamin that had the recommended amounts of folate, choline + b vitamins and was gentle on my sensitive stomach.”
—Maddie P., verified customer

For both parents, Beli offers scientifically-aligned formulas designed to deliver the right nutrients in the right amounts for the best chances of a baby.
Relative to other prenatal vitamins, Beli’s are competitively priced. They cost slightly more than Ritual or Thorne’s, but their higher quality is worth it in our opinion.
